Crete is the largest Greek island. It covers 8336 square kilometers and has a coastline of 1100 kilometers. It is considered as one of the most prosperous regions of Greece. Its geographical location, mild Mediterranean climate, diverse natural beauty and unique cultural and historical treasures have favoured its development.
The island enjoys one of the best subtropical Mediterranean climates with over 300 days and more than 3000 hours of
sunshine annually. A mild rainy season is mostly confined to the period between November and March.
